Terms of Service
Last updated: September 6, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Qalam, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. About Qalam
Qalam is an online, AI-powered Arabic learning service offering lessons, conversational practice with an AI teacher, and optional voice practice. Qalam is currently operating without a separately stated legal entity name. For legal and business inquiries, please use the support contact provided on this website.
3. Eligibility
You must be old enough under the laws of your country to enter into these Terms. Where a minor is permitted to use the service, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on their behalf.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
5. Acceptable Use
Use Qalam for personal language learning. Do not use it in a way that harms the service, other users, or third parties.
6. AI-Generated Educational Content
Lessons, corrections, explanations, and conversation replies may be generated by artificial intelligence. AI output can contain errors, omissions, or inaccurate cultural or grammatical guidance. It is provided as learning assistance and is not an authoritative reference.
7. Learning Content Limitations
Qalam does not guarantee any particular learning outcome, proficiency level, exam result, or certification. No content on Qalam is professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.
8. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for the content you submit, including text and any audio you choose to record, and for ensuring you have the right to submit it.
9. Prohibited Conduct
- Attempting to access other users' accounts or data
- Attempting to bypass authentication, subscription entitlements, or usage limits
- Automated scraping, resale, or redistribution of the service or its content
- Uploading unlawful, abusive, or infringing content
- Interfering with, overloading, or reverse-engineering the service
10. Intellectual Property
Qalam, its lesson content, interface, and branding remain the property of the operator of Qalam and its licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service.
11. User-Generated Content
You keep ownership of the content you submit. You grant us the limited right to process it in order to operate and improve the learning features you request.
12. Third-Party Services
Qalam depends on third-party providers for authentication, hosting, AI processing, speech features, and payments. Their own terms apply to their services, and their availability is outside our control.
13. Free Plan
The Explorer plan is free and provides limited access. Free usage limits may change as the service evolves.
14. Trials
The Scholar plan includes a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription continues and paid billing begins automatically. The Master plan does not include a trial.
15. Paid Subscriptions
Scholar costs $7 USD per month and Master costs $14 USD per month. Lifetime access is a single one-time payment of $45 USD and is not a subscription. Prices are set by Qalam on the server; the amount charged is always the amount configured for the plan you selected.
16. Payments
Payments are processed by PayPal. Qalam does not receive or store your full card details. You must use a payment method you are authorized to use.
17. Automatic Renewal
Monthly subscriptions renew automatically each month through PayPal until they are cancelled. Lifetime purchases do not renew.
18. Cancellation
You can cancel a monthly subscription at any time from your PayPal account, or please use the support contact provided on this website. Cancellation stops future charges; access generally continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
19. Refunds
Refunds are handled under our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
20. Service Availability
Qalam is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and maintenance or provider outages may temporarily affect the service.
21. Changes to the Service
We may add, change, or remove features, lessons, or plans. Where a change materially reduces a paid feature, we will try to give reasonable notice.
22. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, or where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons. You may stop using Qalam at any time.
23. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qalam is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of AI-generated educational content and fitness for a particular purpose.
24. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qalam and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to Qalam in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.
25. Governing Law
Any applicable legal matters will be handled in accordance with applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
26. Contact
For legal and business inquiries, please use the support contact provided on this website. Support contact details will be provided on this page before paid services are launched.
27. Effective Date
These Terms are effective as of the "Last updated" date shown above.
