Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
This policy describes the cookies and similar browser storage technologies that Qalam actually uses. We keep this list limited to what the service needs to function.
1. Essential Technologies
Storage that is required for the application to load and operate securely, including standard protections applied by our hosting and backend providers. Without these the service cannot work.
2. Authentication and Session Technologies
When you sign in, our authentication provider stores your session token in your browser (local storage under a key beginning with sb-) so you stay signed in between visits. Signing out removes it.
3. Preferences and Learning Data on Your Device
Qalam stores a small amount of learning state in your browser's local storage:
- Your recent AI teacher conversation, so it is still there when you return
- Your self-ratings of practice replies, used to show your progress
Clearing your browser storage removes this data from your device.
4. Analytics
Qalam does not currently run any third-party analytics or product-tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated first.
5. Marketing and Advertising
Qalam does not use advertising or marketing tracking cookies, and does not sell personal data.
6. Third-Party Cookies
If you sign in with Google or pay through PayPal, those companies may set their own cookies on their own pages under their own policies. Qalam does not control them.
7. Managing Storage
You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking essential or authentication storage will prevent you from staying signed in.
