Question words
ما what (before nouns) · مَنْ who · أَيْنَ where · مَتى when · كَيْفَ how · لِماذا why.
Yes/no questions
Put هَلْ in front of a statement: أَنْتَ طالِب → هَلْ أَنْتَ طالِب؟ Answer نَعَم (yes) or لا (no).
- هَلْ هِيَ مُعَلِّمة؟ نَعَم. — hal hiya muʿallima? naʿam. — Is she a teacher? Yes.
